Absolute Radio To Air Weekly Sunday Night NFL Games, Int'l Series, Super Bowl

Absolute Radio "has secured commentary rights for American football" in an exclusive deal with the NFL, according to Sunni Upal of the London DAILY MAIL. The station will broadcast 20 live games throughout the season on Sunday nights, "including the two Wembley fixtures and Super Bowl 48 from Metlife Stadium." Green Bay's trip to San Francisco this Sunday "will be the first live match on Absolute Radio this season" (DAILY MAIL, 9/3). MEDIA WEEK's Maisie McCabe reported the commentary "will be broadcast every Sunday night between 9pm and midnight on digital station Absolute Radio 90s." Absolute Radio will also broadcast commentary on both Int'l Series games from Wembley Stadium on Sept. 29 and Oct. 27, as well as the Super Bowl, including the halftime show, in February. This "will be the first time advertisers have been able to partner with NFL commentary on UK commercial radio." The live shows "will be supported by a digital hub on Absolute Radio's website and social media" (MEDIA WEEK, 9/3).
