Public Broadcaster ARD Lands Berlin Marathon Broadcast Rights For Next Four Years

Organizer SCC Events has awarded the national media rights for the BMW Berlin Marathon to SportA, the sports rights agency of German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. ARD and the regional broadcaster Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) will report live starting from this year’s event held on Sept. 29, and then on an exclusive basis from '14. The contract has a term of four years and was brokered by Infront Sports & Media. The media rights acquired by ARD will provide comprehensive coverage across all its channels and media platforms, including radio programs. In addition to the live broadcast, some ARD stations are also planning to accompany the '13 anniversary event with extensive pre- and post-event reporting with immediate effect (Infront).
