Marketplace Roundup: Barcelona Auction Of Game-Worn Jerseys Raises $9,290 For Charity

An auction of eight game-worn Barcelona jerseys from a friendly against Brasileiro club Santos ended on Saturday. The jerseys "receiving the most interest belonged, in order, to Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol and Sergio Busquets." The auction raised a total of €6,979 ($9,290) "for social project BOX21, which aims to improve the quality of life for people with mental disabilities" (SPORT, 8/11). ... German Hockey League (DEL) club Augsburg Panther has signed a new sponsorship deal with furniture brand Wagner for the '13-14 season. The company's logo will be featured on the player's shoulders. The club also extended its sponsorship deal with regional energy supplier Lechwerke (LEW) for another year (Augsburg Panther). ... Online gambling company bwin "has continued its busy summer of football deals by announcing a three-year partnership" with Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille. Bwin "becomes the official online betting and gaming partner" of the club (SOCCEREX, 8/12). ... Ligue 1 side Monaco has announced a partnership with employment agency Triangle Interim for the '13-14 season. Monaco will wear the Triangle Interim logo on the left sleeve of the official jersey (Monaco). ... Swimwear company Speedo will sponsor the Philippines National Team in the upcoming Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China from Friday-Aug. 24 (MANILA TIMES, 8/12).
