English Super League Bradford Bulls Owner Omar Khan Thursday night "hailed a major sponsorship deal with Bartercard that will secure the club’s future for 'the next few years,'" according to Ross Heppenstall of the Bradford TELEGRAPH & ARGUS. Bartercard, the U.K.’s largest business-to-business trade exchange, "will become an official partner in a tie-up that will give the Bulls a significant 'six-figure sum' in each of the next three years." The deal "will see the Rooley Lane Terrace at Odsal renamed the Bartercard Terrace, while the new investors’ name will also feature on the first team’s home and away shirt" (TELEGRAPH & ARGUS, 8/9).
Premier League club Crystal Palace is ready to rename its ground the 12Bet Stadium this season, according to Graeme Yorke of the London DAILY MAIL. Crystal Palace has "brokered a deal to sell the rights to the famous Selhurst Park" -- synonymous with the Eagles since '24. Co-owner Steve Parish "is behind the plan," which is a similar move to when league rival Newcastle United changed St. James' Park to the Sports Direct Arena.
