German Sports Commentator Frank Buschmann Launches YouTube Project

One of Germany's best-known sports commentators, Frank Buschmann, "will launch his online project called 'Buschi.TV' on Aug. 12," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The project has been made possible by Sony Music and will air on YouTube. On Mondays, Buschmann will recap the past sports weekend in "Buschfunk," and in "Buschi trifft..." he will interview guests from the world of sports. In addition, over the course of the week Buschmann will present various content surrounding sports topics -- as well as a monthly fan talk including a quiz from a pub in Munich called "Stadion an der Schleißheimer Straße." To start off his new project, Buschmann will welcome, among others, AC Milan player Kevin Prince Boateng. He said, "We can do things here that we can't do on TV during sports broadcasts: giving athletes the chance to speak elaborately, actually involving fans and covering a large number of different sports." Buschmann currently has more than 16,000 YouTube subscribers (DWDL, 8/5).
