Hamburg SV To Hold Crisis Meeting With Struggling Naming-Rights Partner Imtech

Bundesliga club Hamburg SV, stadium naming rights partner Imtech and the club's marketing partner SPORTFIVE "will reportedly hold a crisis meeting this week in which they will talk about the financial struggles of the naming-rights partner," according to Kai Schiller of the HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT. Imtech announced about a month ago that it would like to terminate its contract with the club, which runs through '16, ahead of time. The technical service provider pays €4.2M ($5.6) annually for the naming rights. HSV Chair Joachim Hilke said, "There will be talks in the next couple of days. We know about Imtech's economic problems. But we have been assured several times that the existing contract will be fulfilled" (HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT, 7/31).
