German Touring Car Championship Chairman Says Series Will Return To China In 2014

German Touring Car Championship (DTM) Chair Hans-Werner Aufrecht said that the racing series "will return to China in the upcoming season," according to the SID. Aufrecht: "We have to cater to the wishes of the manufacturers that want to race in emerging markets." The DTM has established a logistics concept that "allows us to travel abroad at a low cost." It "has not been decided where the race will take place over the next five years." The talks "focus on the highly populated South Chinese province Guangdong and Shanghai, which hosted the DTM in '04 and '10 as well as the annual F1 grand prix" (SID, 7/29).
