Coventry City Agrees To Terms On New Stadium Site, Moves Closer To Permanent Home

League One Coventry City "moved a step closer to securing a permanent new home after agreeing terms on a potential stadium site," according to SKY SPORTS. Coventry City left the Ricoh Arena at the end of last season "after failing to resolve a long-standing dispute over unpaid rent with owners Arena Coventry Ltd." The Football League has given the club "permission to share Northampton's Sixfields ground for the next three seasons" -- with the option of another two -- and City is hopeful it will have its "new home up and running by the end of the agreement" (SKY SPORTS, 7/26). The COVENTRY TELEGRAPH reported real estate firm CBRE is "advising on the land acquisition." CBRE will work "alongside a team of advisers including planning consultants Turley Associates, which advised on the delivery of the revamped Edgbaston Cricket Club, Alexander Stadium and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC's new Compton Park Football Academy." AFLS+P will "be the architects on the project" (COVENTRY TELEGRAPH, 7/26).
