Sports brand Mizuno has named RODRIGO C. SILVEIRA as its VP of Latin America. Silveira will work with Mizuno's Brazilian-based regional and industry partner Alpargatas. Prior to joining Mizuno, who has more than 17 years of industry experience, held exec roles at adidas Group Latin America, where he represented the Reebok brand (Mizuno). ... Former Int'l Cricket Council CEO HAROON LORGAT has been appointed as Cricket South Africa CEO. The position has been vacant since October, when GERALD MAJOLA was fired in the aftermath of the bonus-payments scandal. Of the candidates, Lorgat was "the only one with extensive experience in cricket administration." He was previously a treasurer of CSA and convenor of selectors (ESPN, 7/20). ... PAT FITZGERALD has become the first Longford RFC member to be elected Irish Rugby Football Union president. Fitzgerald is the 126th IRFU president (IRISH RUGBY, 7/19). ... Former New South Wales Liberal Party leader KERRY CHIKAROVSKI has been appointed to the board of NSW Rugby Union. Chikarovski had last year been elected to chair the NSW Women's Rugby Union (NSW Rugby Union). ... The WTA has hired STEVE TSENG as the newly created head of global sponsorship sales. Tseng joins the WTA following 20 years at IMG, most recently as senior VP of IMG's U.S. business development team. Based out of the WTA's corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, Tseng will report directly to WTA Chair & CEO STACEY ALLASTER, and is set to begin in his new role on Aug. 1. Additionally, the WTA announced that RORY RENWICK will join the sponsorship sales group as senior director of business development for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). Rory will be based out of the WTA's London office beginning Aug. 8 (WTA).
