Event Notes: Int'l Jury To Announce Decision Regarding America's Cup Protests

The Int'l Jury will announce its decision on America's Cup protests by Team New Zealand and Italy's Luna Rossa early Friday. Both Team New Zealand and the Italians "have argued that the decision by regatta organisers to allow design changes to the boats as part of the sweeping safety recommendations being introduced in the wake of the Artemis training tragedy" is illegal (STUFF, 7/11). ... The NBA and FIBA on Thursday announced that the 2013 Basketball Without Borders schedule will feature a first-time camp in Portugal and will return to Argentina and South Africa. BWB Americas will tip off the summer schedule from July 25-28 with a return to Buenos Aires. BWB Africa will return to Johannesburg for the 10th time Aug. 29 - Sept. 1 (NBA).
