Spain's national basketball team has confirmed a new absence for the EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia. JUAN CARLOS NAVARRO, who will have ankle surgery in July, will not be available to participate the EuroBasket tournament in Slovenia (EP, 6/27). ... American basketball player QUINCY DAVIS, who has played in Taiwan's Super Basketball League for two years, took steps to renounce his U.S. citizenship Wednesday "in a bid to play for Taiwan in the FIBA Asia Championship." The 29-year-old has obtained renunciation application forms from the Taipei office of the American Institute in Taiwan, "and booked an appointment to formally renounce his citizenship" (CNA, 6/27).
