German Touring Car Championship Set To Return To Berlin, Race At Former Airport In '14

The German Touring Car Championship (DTM) "could soon return to Berlin," according to Sebastian Kayser of BILD. Nineteen years after the last race on the legendary Avus, the DTM "could return to the capital in '14." The race would reportedly "take place at the former Tempelhof Airport." A date "has not been set yet." Berlin Sports Secretary Andreas Statzkowski said, "Interior Senator Frank Henkel has already had talks with reigning (Berlin Mayor) Klaus Wowereit about it. The DTM at Templehof in 2014, that's possible in our opinion" (BILD, 6/16).
