Handball Bundesliga (HBL) side HSV Hamburg has appointed former football goaltender FRANK ROST as managing director. A local radio station reported that the 39-year-old "will sign a contract with the club at the end of the week." Rost said, "As long as nothing has been signed, I won't confirm it or deny it" (SID, 6/11). ... Premier Soccer League Mamelodi Sundowns President PATRICE MOTSEPE is "restructuring the club's management by redeploying his personnel." Former Bafana Bafana coach TROTT MOLOTO "has been moved from the position of technical head to that of chief scout." Former Sundowns captain and U23 national team assistant coach MIKE "NANANANTOMBELA, who was the team manager before the weekend meeting, "has since been given the position that was held by Moloto." Former skipper MIKE MANZINI "is expected to go back to his job of team manager" (SOWETAN LIVE, 6/12). ... Super Rugby League club Widnes Vikings has appointed MATT BEECH to its board of directors (SKY SPORTS, 6/12). ... Super Rugby Leage club Waikato Chiefs is on the lookout for a new CEO after GARY DAWSON "announced his decision to leave at the end of the 2013 Super Rugby season after 13 years in the role" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 6/12).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Second Bundesliga club FC Cologne has appointed Austrian PETER STÖGER as its new head coach. After lengthy negotiations, the club "reached an agreement with Stöger's previous employer," Austrian Bundesliga side Austria Vienna (RP ONLINE, 6/12). ... SERGIO SCARIOLO, the former coach of Spain's national basketball team, has been named the new coach of Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Caja Laboral. Scariolo previously coached the club from '97-99 (MARCA, 6/12). ... Five weeks before it begins its Champions League qualifying campaign, Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Tel Aviv "announced on Wednesday that it has agreed a two-year deal" with PAULO SOUSA to coach the team. Spaniard OSCAR GARCIA "announced three weeks ago that he was leaving the side after a single season due to personal reasons" (JERUSALEM POST, 6/12).
