Newly Promoted 3rd League Side SV Elversberg Invests $11M To Upgrade Stadium

Newly promoted German 3rd League football club SV Elversberg "will completely renovate its Waldstadion Kaiserlinde," the club's home ground, and bring it up to 2nd Bundesliga standards, according to Henning Klefisch of LIGA3 ONLINE. In four separate construction phases, the stadium "will be expanded to 15,000 roofed seats." This includes "a standing room area for 10,000 fans." In addition, the stadium "will get 1,000 business seats, which are supposed to distinctively increase the club's revenue." The club plans for construction costs of about €8M ($10.6M) for the four-year renovation (LIGA3 ONLINE, 6/9).
