Women's French Open Final Gets High Ratings On Eurosport; U21 Euro OK On Sport1

Serena Williams' French Open victory over Maria Sharapova Saturday got a 2.3 rating by Eurosport.
Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport "has recorded convincing ratings for its broadcast of the French Open women's final between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. The live broadcast, which started at 5pm German time on Saturday, attracted an average of 230,000 viewers. The number equaled a market share of 2.3%. In the target demographic 14-49, William's straight set victory was watched by 40,000 viewers and reached a 2.3% market share. Eurosport's broadcast of the men's doubles final, which started at 5:15pm, attracted 60,000 viewers and had a 0.5% market share. In the target demographic, the victory of Bob and Mike Bryan was watched by 20,000 viewers, which translated into a 0.4% share. In addition, German free-to-air TV channel Sport1 "obtained acceptable ratings for its broadcast UEFA U21 European Championship games." Sport1 aired the Group A matchup between England and Norway at 6pm on Saturday. The game attracted 180,000 viewers and had a 1.8% share. In the target demographic, Norway's 3-1 victory was watched by 30,000 viewers and reached a 0.7% share. Following the England-Norway game, Sport1 showed the game between Italy and Israel. Italy's 4-0 victory attracted 160,000 viewers and reached a 0.6% share. In the target demographic, the game was watched by 20,000 viewers and had a 0.2% share (QUOTENMETER, 6/9).
