La Liga side Valencia Athletic VP AMADEO SALVO was on Monday named the 30th president of Valencia, replacing former club President MANUEL LLORENTE. Salvo: "I ask for union, excitement and to open the doors to Valencianism" (EL PAIS, 6/4) ... Former businesswoman of the year finalist and Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa Group CFO SINDI MABASO-KOYANA and former South African FA CEO RAYMOND HACK have both won prestigious places on FIFA's oversight structures "as part of the reform process that the scandal-ridden organisation has been forced to implement" (SOWETAN LIVE, 6/5). ... A-League side Melbourne Victory is searching for a new CEO after RICHARD WILSON "stepped aside from the position." Club Chair ANTHONY DI PIETRO said that "Wilson remained one of the club's major shareholders" and would continue on the board as a non-exec director once a new CEO was appointed (NEWS LIMITED NETWORK, 6/5). ... FERNANDO MOLINOS has left his post as exec president of Spanish Second Division side Real Zaragoza (AS, 6/5).

COACHES: Former EPL side Wigan Athletic Manager ROBERTO MARTINEZ "has been named Everton manager after leaving Wigan Athletic where the Spaniard forged a reputation for making the best of limited resources and playing attractive football." Everton said on its website Wednesday that "Martinez has signed a four-year contract at Goodison Park" (REUTERS, 6/5). Martinez "was the leading candidate to take charge at Goodison Park" since it was announced on May 9 that DAVID MOYES would be leaving to replace ALEX FERGUSON at ManU. Martinez met Everton Chair BILL KENWRIGHT twice for talks last week, before a £1.5M ($2.3M) compensation deal "was agreed on Monday to buy out the remaining 12 months of his Wigan contract" (ESPN, 6/5). ... La Liga side Espanyol coach JAVIER AGUIRRE signed a new one-year contract to stay with the club on Tuesday (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 6/5)
