PepsiCo Denies Reports Of Pulling Out Of Indian Premier League Title Sponsorship Deal

The title sponsor of the Indian Premier League, PepsiCo, has "denied reports appearing in certain sections of the media that the company may pull out of the Twenty20 tournament following the spot-fixing and betting controversies," according to IBN LIVE. A PepsiCo India spokesperson said that "the company had not sent any communication to the Board of Control for Cricket in India." A statement by PepsiCo read, "The stories in a certain section of the media today, on PepsiCo regarding IPL are speculative in nature. As a company policy we do not comment on speculation. PepsiCo has not sent any communication to BCCI as referred in a certain section of the media." Other advertisers Vodafone have not commented yet, while Yes Bank also has quashed queries "about pulling out from the IPL" (IBN LIVE, 5/24).
