Finance Notes: Swiss Shoe Retailer Increases Sales With Opening Of 11 New Shops

Switzerland's leading shoe and sporting goods retailer Dosenbach-Ochsner "increased its total sales significantly in the last year with its Dosenbach, Ochsner Sport and Ochsner Shoes banners." The subsidiary of Deichmann, "Europe's largest shoe retail company," improved its total turnover from CHF 893M ($932M) to CHF 915M ($955M). The significant increase "is partly the result of opening new shops" -- 11 new doors opened in '12 (ISPO, 5/13). ... The deadline is looming for CVC Capital Partners and other investors "to put forward a fresh bid for online betting exchange Betfair." The U.K.'s Takeover Panel "has set Monday as the cut-off point" for CVC to either raise its initial bid of £8.80 ($13.46) per share, or withdraw (BBC, 5/12).
