Event Notes: Basketball Bundesliga Top Four To Take Place In Ulm In '14

The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) announced that Ulm will host the final round of its cup competition in '14. The BBL Top Four 2014 will take place at the 6,000-seat ratiopharm arena on March 29-30, 2014 (BBL). ... The Vietnam Tennis Federation and the Tan Binh Import -- Export Corporation "will co-host three Men' s Futures tennis tournaments in the southern province of Bac Lieu" from Monday until Friday and Ho Chi Minh City from Satruday until April 14 (XINHUA, 3/22). ... With an emphasis on encouraging the youth to embrace sports as a way of life, the Qatar Olympic Committee confirmed that "it will host an astonishing 81 events in the new season beginning next month." The increase in the number of sports events to be held in the coming 12 months is part of QOC’s ambitious plans "to reach a figure of at least 50 international championships by 2020" (PENINSULA QATAR, 3/24). ... The B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada will be the site of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup final, "the first time a championship game will be played on artificial turf" (AP, 3/23).
