F1 Qualifying Session Scores Solid Ratings On RTL; Bundesliga Again Strong On Sky

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "received satisfying ratings" with its broadcast of the F1 qualifying session from Melbourne, Australia, according to Daniel Sallhoff of QUOTEN METER. A total of 1.19 million viewers tuned in to watch Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel win the pole position. The qualification, which started at 1am German time, obtained an 14.8% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, the session from the Albert Park Circuit attracted 710,000 viewers, which equaled a 16.6% (QUOTEN METER, 3/17).

SKY HIGH: QUOTEN METER's Manuel Weis reported German pay-TV channel Sky "recorded strong ratings with its Bundesliga simulcast" on Saturday afternoon. The channel's simulcast, which started at 2:30pm German time, attracted 1.31 million viewers. The number translated into a 8.9% market share. In the target demographic, the broadcast was watched by 660,000 viewers and had a 12.7%. Sky's live broadcast of the day's top match between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, which aired at 6:30pm, attracted an average of 1.05 million viewers, which equaled a 4.1% share. In the target demographic, Munich's 2-1 victory obtained a 6.3% share (QUOTEN METER, 3/17).
