Mediaset Acquires La Liga Broadcast Rights For Next Two Seasons Through '15

Spanish broadcaster Mediaset Espana and media group Mediapro "have reached an agreement to offer the weekly, free-to-air matches" of La Liga on its open channel Cuatro and online, according to Pamela Rolfe of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Mediapro announced Friday that "it had accepted Mediaset's offer, which includes the remaining 10 rounds of this season, and all the games in the next two." The deal starts April 1. Mediaset now holds all blue-chip football rights, including the 2014 World Cup and the Spanish Cup (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 3/15).
