UEFA "mounted an urgent investigation" Wednesday into a report that major European clubs are "being offered huge inducements to play in a 24-team tournament to be held every two years" in Qatar, according to Andy Hodgson of the London EVENING STANDARD. However, there was "immediate scepticism about the report," which appeared in Wednesday's London Times. Some suggested the paper "had been duped by a giant hoax."
