Olympic Notes: South Korean Footballer To Testify London Celebration At IOC Panel Meeting

South Korean football player Park Jong-woo will attend an upcoming disciplinary meeting at the IOC "to make his case regarding a controversial post-match celebration at the London Olympics" (YONHAP, 2/7). ... In "what is tantamount to a ringing endorsement of the Pakistan Olympic Association and negation of the recent resolution passed by some rogue organisations and individuals," the IOC has in a letter duly countersigned by the Olympic Council of Asia reaffirmed the status of the POA headed by the elected President Syed Arif Hasan "as the legitimate National Olympic Committee of Pakistan" (PAKISTAN TODAY, 2/6).
