Axel Springer Wants Constantin Medien To Produce Bundesliga Content For BILD.de

German media company Axel Springer, which will receive the online rights to the Bundesliga this summer, "wants media company Constantin Medien to produce its content," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTEN METER. Axel Springer, through its website BILD.de, "will be allowed to show up to six-minute long clips of Bundesliga games -- starting an hour after the conclusion of games for a charge and after midnight free-of-charge." The clips, as wished by Axel Springer, "will be produced by Constantin Medien." Constantin currently works together with telecom company Deutsche Telekom "to produce Bundesliga games for Telekom's Liga Total! IPTV and mobile program. However, Telekom "will discontinue its Liga Total! program after the season because it lost the league's IPTV and mobile rights to Sky Deutschland." Should Springer and Constantin agree to a cooperation, the Liga Total! staff "could continue its work in a limited capacity" (QUOTEN METER, 1/29).
