Facility Notes: Qatar Planning To Open New Tennis Stadium By 2017

Qatar Tennis Federation President Nasser bin Ghanim al-Khelaifi said that a new tennis stadium will open in the country in "the next three or four years." Al-Khelaifi said, "I hope the QTF will host more important tennis tournament in the coming future as the new stadium with improved facilities will be ready in the next three to four years. We have finalized the design of the stadium, and it will be ready to host major events soon" (GULF TIMES, 1/5). ... The first indoor track for ice cross downhill has opened at SnowWorld in Landgraaf, Netherlands. The 330m track will be used as a training facility for participants in the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship as well as the Dutch National Championship. A 70m vertical drop makes the track one of the steepest ever built (Red Bull).
