Event Notes: ATP World Tour Will Return To Bogotá In 2013

The ATP World Tour is set to return to Bogotá, Colombia in '13, following the ATP board of directors’ approval of the sale of the L.A. tournament, an ATP World Tour 250 event, to IMLA de Colombia, a Colombian entertainment and sports marketing company. The new tournament will be staged at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento, the same venue that hosted an ATP World Tour event from '97–02 (ATP). ... Hong Kong Sevens organizers will try a public ballot next year for the rugby event's "hottest tickets in town after incurring the wrath of fans when the online sales system crashed this year." The registration window will begin at 9am local time on Thursday and close at 5pm on Feb. 4. Following the seven-week registration period, 4,000 public tickets will be distributed through the ballot on Feb. 7. The event will be held March 22-24 (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 12/12). ... Next year’s Irish Open is to be held on the Montgomerie Course at Carton House. The Montgomerie has staged the event twice before (IRISH TIMES, 12/11). ... A traditional boxing challenge will be held at Sibin Thaya Sports Ground in Mandalay, Myanmar on Friday and Saturday. The event is organized by the Myanmar Boxing Federation (XINHUA, 12/12).
