Real Madrid forward CRISTIANO RONALDO has donated €1.5M ($1.9M) to Palestinian children in Gaza, "the Arabic version of the club's Classico netowrk reports." Ronaldo gave his Golden Boot, which he received in '11, to the Real Madrid Foundation, which then sold it at an auction (RUSSIA TODAY, 11/21). ... Triple Gold Medalist sprinter USAIN BOLT "will not appear" in cricket's Big Bash Twenty20 League this year but "may consider switching to cricket or football after the 2016 Olympics. Bolt's agent RICKY SIMMS said, "Usain is currently an athlete focused on his preparations for the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. He may try his hand at cricket or football when he retires from running, but that would be after 2016" (BBC, 11/20).

NO REGRETS: Former Championship club Bolton Wanderers player FABRICE MUAMBA "insists he has no regrets" after the cardiac arrest that ended his football career. He was guest of honor at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland and met with President SEPP BLATTER "to discuss plans for a future role and how his story could help the organisation raise health awareness issues" (Bolton). ... At the 2012 U.K. Coaching Awards, Olympic heptathlon Gold Medalist JESSICA ENNIS's coach TONI MINICHIELLO was awarded 2012 U.K. Coach of the Year, while he and U.K. Athletics Paralympics Program head coach PETER ERIKSSON, who just left the position last month, also received High Performance Coach of the Year awards (U.K. Athletics).
