Spanish, German Broadcasters Score Strong Ratings From Tuesday's Champions League Matches

German pay-TV channel Sky Tuesday "obtained record-breaking ratings for its coverage of the UEFA Champions League," according to Sidney Schering of QUOTENMETER.de. A "total of 940,000 viewers tuned in to watch Sky's broadcast of all eight Champions League games on Tuesday night." The games, which started at 8:45pm CEST, "obtained a 3.1% market share." In the target group, Sky was able to attract 440,000 viewers or a 3.5% share (QUOTENMETER.de, 10/24).

SPAIN: RTVE.es reported broadcaster La 1's coverage of the FC Barcelona and Celtic clash at the Camp Nou was watched by an average of 5.73 million people and a 29.7% share. The most-watched minute of the 2-1 Barça victory came at 10:33pm local time when 7.819 million viewers were tuned in for a 35.6% share (RTVE.es, 10/24).
