German second-tier hockey club Eispiraten Crimmitschau signed NHL player CLARKE MACARTHUR for the duration of the league's lockout. The 27-year-old left winger played last season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. MacArthur has played 363 NHL games and scored 85 goals and 108 assists (BILD, 10/23). ... South Korean rhythmic gymnast SON YEON-JAE "has found herself caught in a power struggle" between her agency, IB Sport, and the Korea Gymnastic Association. Her long-time mentor KIM JI-HEE "has tendered her resignation from the KGA" (KOREA TIMES, 10/22). ... Former England football Manager SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON and a former nanny to the Beckham family "are taking legal action" against Britain's Mirror Group Newspapers over alleged phone hacking. Media lawyer MARK LEWIS said that he had also recently issued High Court claims against newspapers in the Mirror Group: the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People, "on behalf" of actress SHOBNA GULATI and former footballer GARY FLITCROFT (AFP, 10/23). ...
