The 27-year-old Swedish native has played 296 NHL games for the Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets (SALZBURGER NACHRICHTEN, 10/22). ... The "remarkably poor sales" of ManU player WAYNE ROONEY's latest book demonstrates that "the recession in the football book market shows no sign of ending." Publishers HarperCollins is understood "to have sold only about 6,000 copies of 'Wayne Rooney -- My Decade In The Premier League'" in the six weeks since the launch (London DAILY MAIL, 10/22). ... Rangers CEO CHARLES GREEN has apologized to the club's fans after "claiming he had received death threats" during his early days in charge. Green also said he had been abused in Glasgow streets by Rangers fans. Green said, "I appreciate the article in today's Sun has upset some supporters and for that I am truly sorry. I was merely trying to illustrate how far we have all come together" (BBC, 10/22). ... Westmorland County football association governing body WESTMORLAND FA has achieved the Level of the Equality Standard, and was presented with its award at the the FA Full Council on Wednesday (FA).
