Bundesliga Club VfB Stuttgart Wants To Build A New Youth Center
Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart "will continue to upgrade its infrastructure under the slogan 'Bricks For Legs,'" according to Jörg Nauke of the STUTTGARTER ZEITUNG. VfB Stuttgart President Gerd Mäuser revealed that the club has "submitted a construction permit application to the city for its planed new youth center." Next year, if the application has been approved, the submission will follow. The construction could start as early as May, in close proximity to the club center. The youth center is expected to be completed by Aug. '14. The area will be 2,700 sqm. Club CFO Ulrich Ruf said that "the investment volume will be €9.5M ($12.5M)" (STUTTGARTER ZEITUNG, 10/18).
FRESH DIRT: The DPA reported German Handball Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach "broke ground of its new Schwalbe arena on Wednesday." The 4,132-seat arena is expected to open its doors on July 15. The new arena has, according to club information, a price tag of €10.7M ($14M) (DPA, 10/17).
