The Sauber F1 Team "reportedly acquired German F1 driver NICO HÜLKENBERG." The Force India driver reportedly "signed a contract with the Swiss team after the Korean Grand Prix." Hülkenberg will replace Mexican driver SERGIO PEREZ who joins the McLaren team next season. Sauber did not comment on the reported deal (DPA, 10/15). ... Indian Olympic Association President SURESH KALMADI, who is "under pressure to quit," said that he will not seek renomination in the IOA's elections scheduled for Nov. 25 and "hinted at retiring from sports administration" (PTI, 10/13). Real Madrid striker CRISTIANO RONALDO now has 50 million followers on Facebook. Ronaldo posted a message on the site to thank his fans. Ronaldo wrote, "Thank you. I really want to keep sharing all the good moments with you guys (AS, 10/15). ... Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon Manager RICARDO SÁ PINTO "has been shown the door," and Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan Manager JAIME PACHECO "is one of three coaches in the frame to replace him." Sá Pinto was relieved of his job following a 3-0 loss to Videoton FC almost two weeks ago (WILDEASTFOOTBALL.net, 10/15).

NHL PLAYERS GO ABROAD: Austrian hockey club KAC has signed Buffalo Sabres defenseman TYLER MYERS during the league's lockout. The 22-year-old Canadian has played 230 NHL games (KRONE.at, 10/13). The KAC also signed Edmonton Oilers forward SAM GAGNER. The 23-year-old has scored 77 goals and 143 assists in 365 NHL games (KAC).
