Sports research and consulting firm Repucom has named CHARLIE DUNDAS as its new exec VP for the U.K. and Ireland. Dundas will lead a 45-person team with a brief to boost revenues by focusing on providing greater insights and intelligence to clients as well as adding value to its best-in-class sponsorship tracking services. Dundas joined the company from WPP where he was director of MediaCom Sport. At the same time, the company is launching a new consultancy service to be headed by another new recruit ED WOOLLER, the former head of Mindshare consultancy mSport, and backed up by ex-McKinsey Consultant GERALD POWELL. SVENJA SIMON has also joined the team as global head of media. The final recruit is MATT TIMBRELL, a former senior business development manager at West Ham United FC. He will join the team as business developmet manager (Repucom). ... Bundesliga club FC Augsburg "appointed former professional goaltender JÜRGEN ROLLMANN as its new GM." Rollmann replaces current club GM MANFRED PAULA (SID, 10/8). ... The Int'l Cricket Council Board accepted the joint nomination from the Pakistan Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board for AHM MUSTAFA KAMAL to the role of ICC VP for '12-14 and then subsequently as ICC president '14-15. Kamal will now be required to step down as BCB president (ICC).

SWOOSH SWAPS: Nike has appointed its former Marketing Dir for Northern Europe NICOLE HUBBARD as marketing director for the U.K. and Ireland "with immediate effect." Hubbard will "lead its brand building activity in the U.K. with a brief to increase the company's focus on sports categories." She replaces GINO FISANOTTI, who has moved to the brand's global headquarters in Portland, Oregon (MARKETINGWEEK.co.uk, 10/9). Marketing Magazine's Joyn Reynolds wrote that the change "is the latest in a number at Nike, which includes the appointment of Burberry's social media marketing guru MUSA TARIQ to take up a similar role at Nike." Additionally, Global Dir of Brand Communication ED ELWORTHY, a 10-year Nike employee, "is taking a sabbatical" from the company. He is "expected to return" in the spring (MARKETINGMAGAZINE.co.uk, 10/9).

COACHES: Former Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters Manager MASATAKA NASHIDA "is expected to be offered the Japan head coaching job for next year's World Baseball Classic." He will work alongside KOJI YAMAMOTO, "who is set to be named manager" of Japan. Joining Yamamoto and Nashida in the dugout are former Seibu Lions Manager OSAMU HIGASHIO, former Chunichi Dragons player KAZUYOSHI TATSUNAMI and Orix Buffaloes Head Coach NOBUHIRO TAKASHIRO (KYODO, 10/9). ... The Phnom Penh Crown FC has named SAM SCHWEINGRUBER head coach, replacing outgoing Englishman DAVID BOOTH, who resigned shortly after the team's return home "from a disastrous" Asian Football Confederation President's Cup finals in Tajikistan last month. Schweingruber has been offered a "one-year contract without detailing a financial package." The 33-year-old has spent the past six years living and working in Battambang, Cambodia where he founded the sports and leadership training nonprofit, SALT Academy (PHNOM PENH POST, 10/9). ... Championship club Bolton Wanderers have sacked Manager OWEN COYLE after the club suffered a "poor start" to their campaign. The Scot was dismissed on Tuesday after the Trotters won just three of their opening 10 matches to "languish down" in 18th place in the 24-team league (REUTERS, 10/9).
