Organizers of the '14 Sochi Games celebrated the 500-days-out mark yesterday by unveiling the event's official slogan: "Hot.Cool.Yours." SOCOG President & CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko said that the slogan is "aimed to bring more foreigners to Sochi and also make Russians proud." He noted that the motto makes reference to "Sochi's unique sun-and-snow climate." Around 12,000 Olympic volunteers in 17 cities took part in festivities to mark 500 days out (RT.com, 9/25). Chernyshenko said that "infrastructure in the Black Sea resort is now 70% complete and that preparations are on schedule for Russia’s first Winter Games" (AP, 9/25).
