Japanese Company Launches Successful Mobile MLB Game In U.S.

Social gaming company CyberX Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberAgent, Inc. headquartered in Tokyo, announced the launch of a Major League Baseball-focused iOS mobile game, "MLB Stars Collection." Categorized as a "player battle game," users set out to build the most successful team by acquiring their favorite MLB players. It is available for download in the U.S., Canada and Mexico through the Apple App Store (CyberX). LeadOff Sports Marketing VP Taka Shirai said, "This type of game has been sensational in Japan, and it has spurred their mobile game industry to generate revenue of more than $4B this year. With the MLB brand, this game title has a big potential, and it will be interesting to see what kind of success it will have in the U.S. (SBD Global).
