Lancashire County Cricket Club has named DANIEL GIDNEY as the club’s CEO. The 43-year-old, "who for the past six years has filled the same role at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena," will take over at Old Trafford from JIM CUMBES. Gidney’s appointment brings to an end a long search for Lancashire, who hired a team of head-hunters to "find the right man to lead what is now no longer just a cricket club but a business," which last year had a turnover in excess of £11M ($17.8M) (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 9/20). ... Glasgow 2014 Dir Of Games Time Delivery JACQUI MURDOCH will leave the Games' Organizing Committee. Murdoch was responsible for overseeing delivery of Games-time areas such as sport, Games family relations, venues, the Athletes' Village, and Games services including transport and security. She will leave in November (Glasgow 2014).
