Spanish Internationals Receive Their Weight In Beer From Sponsor Cruzcampo

As part of the Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) deal with beer producer Cruzcampo, the players of the Spanish national team received "their weight in beer bottles," according to EUROPA PRESS. The Heineken brand has been an official sponsor of La Roja since '07 and wanted to reward the players for their 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 titles. The two players present for the event were Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso and Barcelona's Jordi Alba who were joined by Head Coach Vicente Del Bosque. Alonso weighed in at 84kg and Alba at 67kg. Heineken Espana Marketing Dir Erick Larsson said, "It is an honor to be with the champions. It has been a long partnership, with much success. We are confident in the potential of this team, and the sponsorship could not have gone any better. We expect to remain a talisman for this team" (EUROPA PRESS, 9/4).
