Castle Lager Partners With SAFA To Recruit Country's Best

Beer brand Castle Lager has launched an initiative to find and develop South Africa's undiscovered football talent. The program is called Castle Superstars and will run in partnership with the South African Football Association. During the eight-month campaign, players from the 52 SAFA regions will compete for a place in the Castle Lager Superstars XI. Qualifying players will be coached, conditioned and mentored by the country's top professional coaches, trainers and ex-Bafana players, thereby earning them the opportunity to prove themselves to local professional clubs, or even abroad. The first phase of the campaign will commence in September and will scout players throughout the country. Selected players will then attend a two-week training camp in January, where ex-Bafana captain Neil Tovey will be in attendance to help coach (SAFA).
