The UEFA Exec Committee approved the timeline for bidders interested in hosting Euro 2020. UEFA will hold discussions with all national associations before publishing the detailed bid regulations in December. From then on, associations interested in bidding should prepare their bid documentation ready for the deadline to submit bids to UEFA in Sept. '13. The submitted bids will then be evaluated and an announcement of host(s) for Euro 2020 will be made in May '14 (UEFA).

RECORD-BREAKING: The SID reported that newly promoted Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf "set a new club record for season-ticket sales." The team sold "31,000 season tickets for the upcoming season," which starts on Aug. 24. The club returned to Germany's top flight "after a 15-year hiatus." The previous record of 16,500 season tickets was set just about a year ago (SID, 8/2).
