Brazil Launches Ad Campaign Hoping To Lure Tourists Ahead Of Future Sporting Events

Brazil's new int'l promotional campaign called "The World Meets In Brazil" was launched by President Dilma Rousseff at the London Film Museum on Wednesday, according to COPA2014.gov.br. The campaign has the objective of "promoting the country with a focus on major events" that will be taking place in Brazil during the next four years. The country will host the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup, and the '16 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The campaign by the Ministry of Tourism has the strategy of "presenting Brazil as a country that has a unique culture and that offers diverse experiences for all its visitors." The new promotion will be publicized in more than 100 countries, "with a probable impact of 1.2 billion people" (COPA2014.gov.br, 7/25).
