Corinthians' Libertadores Title Creates More Revenue

Corinthians VP Luis Rosenberg revealed that the team's Copa Libertadores title and the "consequent presence in the FIFA Club World Championships" should increase the club's revenue by R$50M ($24.6M) before the end of the calendar year, according to Erich Beting of MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br. Rosenberg projected that "just the sale of the official packages for the FIFA Club World Championship" could generate R$10M ($4.9M). The rest of the money would come from "the sale of licensed products, renegotiation of sponsorships, and premiums" for participating in the FIFA event. The VP also said "there is no rush to sign a new contract and the idea is to take advantage of the good moment" and ask for more money. He said, "At the end of the year, you can be certain that we will have the largest sponsorship revenue in Brazil." He added: "For the next sponsorship, we want a contract that will last until the World Cup" (MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br, 7/10).
