F1 boss BERNIE ECCLESTONE's daughter PETRA ECCLESTONE delivered a petition to No. 10 Downing Street in London. She is the ambassador for the Meningitis Trust and was joined by the trust's CEO SUE DAVIE and young survivors of the disease to bring the document to the attention of the British PM DAVID CAMERON. Petra's support for the trust stems from her brush with meningitis just more than six years ago, and event she describes as "life changing" (DAILY MAIL, 7/7).

POPULARITY CONTEST: According to the Olympic Athletes' Hub's list of top-followed athletes South Korean Olympic figure skating champion KIM YU-NA has the most online fans among Asian Olympians. Kim was the 32nd most followed on social networking services with 1.39 million followers as of Monday. China’s basketball player YAO MING followed her in 33rd with 1.36 million followers. The top two most followed were U.S. basketball players LEBRON JAMES with 16.47 million and KOBE BRYANT with 13.46 million. Wimbledon champion ROGER FEDERER was third most popular with 11.01 million fans, followed by Spanish tennis player RAFAEL NADAL in fourth with 10.95 million. Brazil footballer Neymar placed fifth with 10.52 million (KOREA HERALD, 7/9).
