Austrian Football Team Rapid Vienna Is Concerned About Transfer Money

Austrian football club Rapid Vienna is "concerned about the remaining transfer proceeds" for its former player Nikica Jelavic, according to the KURIER. The team sold current Premier League Everton and Croatian national team player Jelavic for €5M ($6.1M) to Scottish side Rangers in '10. The heavily indebted Rangers team still owes Rapid Vienna €890,000 ($1.1M). Only a small amount of the Rangers debt, but for Rapid "it is 5% of the club's annual revenue." Rapid Manager Stefan Ebener said, "Our British lawyers try to get us recognized as privileged creditors." This should help the team to get more money than the estimated 10-20% (KURIER, 7/6).
