Euro 2012 Ratings Up Across All Major Demos for ESPN, ESPN2

Ratings for UEFA Euro 2012 were up across the board for ESPN and ESPN2. The 31 matches that were telecast on ESPN and ESPN2 averaged a 0.9 U.S. HH rating, which is up 50% from the 0.6 rating the nets posted in '08. Viewership increased 51%, as this year's tournament drew 1.3 million viewers, up from 859,000 viewers four years ago. The main male demos all showed big percentage gains during the tournament. The male 18-34 demo was up 57% (1.1 from 0.7); men 18-49 was up 43% (1.0 from 0.7) and men 25-54 was up 33% (0.8 from 0.6).The Spain-Italy final was the highest-rated Euro match in U.S. TV history. ESPN pulled a 2.4 U.S. HH rating, up 4% from a 2.3 in '08, which aired on ABC. Viewership jumped 8% to 4.068 million from 3.761 million in '08. The final also was the most-watched telecast in ESPN Deportes history with 1.125 million P2+ viewers.
