Frankfurt Bundesliga Clubs Left Without Jersey Sponsors

Bundesliga teams in Frankfurt are unable to find jersey sponsors, according to BILD. Newly promoted Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, second league team FSV Frankfurt and Basketball Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt are all without a jersey sponsorship for the upcoming season. Eintracht Exec Chair Heribert Bruchhagen said, "It is tough." The club started looking for a sponsor in January and expects about €6M ($7.5M) in revenue, the same amount it received from ex-sponsor Fraport, a German transport company. The sponsorship deal between Hyundai and FSV Frankfurt is about to expire, but FSV CFO Clemens Krüger said, "We are negotiating with several candidates." Hyundai paid €1.3M ($1.6M) a year to be on players' chests. Frankfurt's BBL team Skyliners is also without a sponsorship deal after current sponsor Deutsche Bank, who paid €1M ($1.2M) a year, announced its desire to get out of the deal (BILD, 6/25).

NEW DEAL IN LEVERKUSEN: Meanwhile, Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen announced its new partnership with online betting provider Betfair. The two sides agreed to a two-year deal with the option for a third year. The deal includes stadium advertisement plus an extensive ad and marketing campaign that focuses on Leverkusen Sport Dir Rudi Völler (Bayer 04 Leverkusen).
