The Olympic Stadium saga has claimed its second high-profile victim with the departure of London Legacy Development Corporation CEO Andrew Altman, according to Paul Kelso of the London TELEGRAPH. Altman 'has effectively paid the price for the failure to secure the future of the stadium before the Olympics" after two years, and will leave the LLDC (formerly the Olympic Park Legacy Company) immediately after the Games. His exit, presented as a mutual decision, was announced just 24 hours after new Chair Daniel Moylan formally started and "is clear evidence that London Mayor Boris Johnson’s ally means business." Moylan was brought in after Baroness Ford was "forced out" last month. Altman’s departure comes as the LLDC’s focus shifts to construction post-Games
and he will be replaced by Dennis Hone, his counterpart at the Olympic
Delivery Authority. Hone will do both jobs until a full-time successor to
Altman is found, a role that Hone will be favourite to fill (TELEGRAPH, 6/19). Also in London, Owen Gibson reported that Altman has "been at the helm throughout the controversy over the future of the stadium" and its transition into the London Legacy Development Corporation (GUARDIAN, 6/19).
