Bundesliga Attendance Up 5.2% For '11-12 Season; Second League Up 18%

The German Bundesliga announced a new attendance record for the '11-12 season, according to SPORT1.DE. An “average of 44,293 tickets were sold for each Bundesliga game last season, a 5.2% increase from the previous year. In Germany's second division, the increase in average attendance was even greater. An “average of 17,196 fans” attended the games, which is an “18% increase from the previous season.” The 36 professional clubs in Germany’s top two divisions sold “a total of 18.8 million tickets" (SPORT1.DE, 6/19).
