Blatter Wants 2014 World Cup To Have Goal Line Technology

FIFA President Joseph Blatter said that FIFA will use goal line technology during the 2014 World Cup, according to Malena Castaldi of REUTERS. England's Frank Lampard had a disallowed goal against Germany in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa which played a large role in the decision. Blatter said, "FIFA cannot repeat the same situation that we encountered with that game." He added: "I cannot go to the 2014 World Cup without this system." The final decision will still depend on the International Football Association Board, which will meet in Zurich on July 5 to discuss the topic (REUTERS, 6/15).
