The DAILYRECORD.co.uk reports Rangers FC has announced pension fund manager MALCOLM MURRAY as Chair of the club. In addition, BRIAN STOCKBRIDGE will be Financial Dir while IMRAN AHMAD of Zeus Capital will join the board as Non-Exec Dir (DAILYRECORD.co.uk, 6/14).
EXECS: CTC Media has appointed BORIS PODOSLSKY as CEO, effective immediately. Podolsky joined the company as CFO in '07, and has served as acting CEO since Dec. '11. Management and the Board of Directors have initiated a search for a new CFO to replace Podolsky, who will serve as the company's acting CFO until a permanent replacement is appointed (CTC Media Inc.).
MANAGERS: Barcelona FC has officially announced TITO VILANOVA as head coach for the next two seasons. The deal will expire on June 30, 2014 (EFE, 6/13). ... Seguna Division's Villareal FC has appointed JULIO VELAZQUEZ as head coach. Velazquez had previously been coaching Villareal FC's B team since Dec. '11. MANOLO PRECIADO had been given the position a little over a week ago but he passed away of a sudden heart attack hours later (EFE, 6/13).
