Nicklaus Companies Expand To China With Beijing Firm

Nicklaus Companies launched Nicklaus-China through a partnership with Beijing-based private equity firm Finergy Capital. Finergy Capital will aid in the growth of golf in China by assisting developers with golf course and residential development. The venture will also explore business opportunities outside design and development. Nicklaus-China became official Tuesday at Pasadera Country Club in Monterey, Calif. Participating in the signing were Nicklaus and Finergy Capital CEO Dr. Guang Yang. Nicklaus Design already has 19 courses open in China, 12 under development and 10 projects signed and in the planning process. The Nicklaus-China venture will operate out of Beijing, and the office will include both Chinese and American executives (Nicklaus Companies).
